How Lean Tech Shrank Demo SLAs from One Week to One Hour

Lean Technologies cut demo build time from a week to under an hour by replacing bespoke slides and mockups with interactive, reusable demos in Coast. The shift unified their end-to-end product story, freed sales from engineering, and lifted results - double-digit growth in data products and a 42% conversion jump on lending demos.

Lean Technologies provides open banking infrastructure for fintechs across the Middle East. Its platform enables A2A payments, account data access, and real-time financial experiences across a growing network of banks and startups.

With over 260 clients and more than 500,000 end users, Lean is an open banking leader in MENA. The company has raised more than $100 million in funding—most recently a $67.5M Series B led by General Catalyst—and processes over $2.5 billion in payment volume.

With Lean’s rapid growth, it became even more important to be able to clearly demonstrate their product capabilities:

“Everyone has empathy for things they can see. As an API the ways our product can be used are varied and complex - the same data attribute can be used across multiple user journeys and processes. This creates an internal and external challenge when trying to showcase the value Lean can bring throughout a prospect's entire user journey from onboarding to payments.”
— Alex, VP of Product

Sales conversations grew longer and more complex. Without a front-end, Lean struggled to convey what its APIs could actually enable. Each demo was custom-built—requiring a full week of work across sales, product, design, and engineering.

That changed with Coast.

Today, Lean generates tailored, interactive demos in less than a day. Sales teams can showcase product capabilities visually, without relying on engineering. Instead of manually stitching together assets, teams share a single URL that tells a cohesive product story—one that’s easy to forward, reuse, and scale across enterprise buyers.

Disjointed tools slowed growth

Before Coast, Lean relied on Pitch, Figma, and custom-built sites to create 1:1 demos. The challenges were consistent:

  • Time intensive: Custom demos took up to one week of cross-functional effort
  • Engineering burden: Updates pulled dev teams off roadmap work
  • Inconsistent messaging: Sellers told different stories depending on the asset
  • Sales bottleneck: Product and solutions engineers had to join early-stage calls
“Every demo felt like a one-off,” said Alex. “Even though our product is scalable, our story wasn’t.”

From static storytelling to interactive selling

Lean rebuilt its entire product narrative in Coast in under a week. The impact was immediate:

  • Interactive demos became central to every sales pitch
  • Sales teams operated independently on most deals
  • Product only stepped in for strategic accounts

For the first time, Lean could show the full end-to-end experience—onboarding, payments, insights, refunds—in a single, consistent interactive flow.

Prototyping new use cases and unlocking revenue

Coast also enabled rapid prototyping. When Lean identified a new use case for neobank onboarding, the team built the demo in Coast and pitched it within a month—before the product was fully live. The deal closed. Implementation is now underway.

“The platform helps us go from idea to market faster than ever before,” Alex said.

Quantifiable results
  • Demo creation time dropped from 1 week to <1 hour
  • Double-digit growth in data product sales over 6 months
  • 42% higher conversion on lending demos

End-to-end utility across teams

Lean now uses Coast beyond sales—for onboarding, training, and field enablement:

  • New hires ramp up by exploring real product flows, not static docs
  • Field teams showcase products live at major conferences
  • GTM teams prototype and test new narratives before launch
“Everyone can finally see what our platform actually does,” said Alex.
